Whilst disruptive innovations are usually thought of in relation to commercial businesses, disruptive innovation can impact any organisation.

The NHS is a huge organisation which is continually pressed to make the most of the limited resources that it has.  However much funding it gets, it will never be enough as expectations rise and demands from its customers and politcal masters increase.

Disruptive innovation has the potential to dramitically and radically change things.  It can enable massive cost reductions or service level improvements and as such needs to be encouraged, embraced and systemised.
